CAMPING FAQs

  • This is camping made easy! Our camper is set up and fully furnished for your arrival.  We suggest you bring any needed snacks and spirits (or buy items in town) to store in the camper’s fridge. Our bathroom is fully stocked with organic bath products and towels for your use. For those of you wanting a more lux experience, we offer a selection of ways to enhance your stay at the ranch.

  • Our motto is one couple rejuvenates at a time. We really work best as a single person or couples retreat. Our camper is fitted with a queen-size bed that comfortably sleeps two adults. We can convert the sitting area into a twin-size bed to accommodate a small child for an extra charge.

  • Forecasts in the Capay Valley is relatively predictably (with the summer months being hot). Please be sure to check the weather before heading out!

  • You bet there are fun things to do! We offer a variety of activities that can be scheduled when you book.

    • Horse and goat visits from outside their pens

  • Yes, but your options are a little limited. We are conveniently located 1/4 mile outside of the town of Esparto. Here you will find El Torro Meat Market, offering wonderful farm fresh meat and basic provisions - open until 8pm every night. You can also visit the Esparto Grab n Go, Dollar General and Manas Market for other essentials.

  • For a full refund on reservations, you must cancel two weeks in advance of your reservation date.

    *Please note, we cannot take responsibility for inclement weather. We cannot make exceptions for cancellations do to heat, cold, rain or fog. We recommend checking the weather before your trip and packing appropriately.

  • Check-in is after 1PM on Friday. We ask that all guests register at the house when they arrive. Check out is 1PM on Sunday. If you are interested in extending your stay for more than a weekend experience, we recommend you speak with us directly.

  • THERE ARE NO OPEN FLAMES OR SMOKING OF ANY KIND AT DRAGONFLY RANCH. Because our environment is home to animals and our Valley has grass prone to ignite we do not allow smoking of any kind. We ask you to bring e-cigarettes or vape pens if needed. If we see a guest smoking anything with a sparked flame they will be told to vacate the property without a refund.

  • For the enjoyment of our guests and animals, we ask for quiet after 10PM. There is no amplified music allowed.

  • We allow for up to two vehicles per site and ask that you park in designated parking areas during your stay.  Contact us in advance if you need to park more vehicles.

  • Our pool is swim at your own risk. We have a well maintained comfortable pool area for your use. Our pool is not heated, but this is a welcome plunge in the summer heat!

  • Our space is kid friendly, however, children must be supervised at all times. There is no lifeguard on duty in the pool. We do not recommend our campground or experiences for children younger than school ages. This is due to the varying external conditions of the Valley. It is important to keep your children safe by supervising them… and we also recommend for only seasoned campers to bring their pint sized people.

  • Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs on the property due to our ranch animals.

  • While we fully encourage people to unplug when staying with us, we understand that some guests will need to use a wifi connection during their stay. The seating areas closer to the house are our designated wifi area where you can find a reliable connection.

  • Our camper has electricity for powering smaller electronic devices.

  • Unfortunately, our climate is very dry during our operating months. To reduce the risk of fires, we will not accommodate campfires.

  • Because our climate is very dry during our operating months, we do not allow for unsupervised stovetop cooking. There is a microwave available in the camper for heating up to-go meals. We do offer planned meal packages if you wish to have a farm-fresh meal prepared for you on-site. You may also visit some of the local eateries available in the Capay Valley or the camper comes with a microwave.

  • In the event of an emergency, please call 911 and use our address (provided at check in) as location for emergency responders. If it is a non-emergency, please give us a call, a number will be provided at check in.

  • Experience Dragonfly Ranch is a safe, private property. However, we are not responsible for loss, damage or claims to property of guests due to fire, theft, accident or any other cause. For maximum security, we ask guests to lock valuables in their car or camper. Being in possession of weapons such as firearms is not permitted on the property. We also reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
